Batam Travel Diary

 After spending our 5 working days in Singapore, Rosanne and I, spent weekend in Batam, Indonesia. Batam is an island, a free trade zone part of Indonesia-Singapore-Malaysia Growth Triangle it is located 20km South coast of Singapore, or 45 minutes travel via Ferry. We actually purchased 2 days 1 night Batam Island Package Tour from Holiday Guru for SGD60. Included in the package are the following:

  • 2 way return ferry ticket by SINDO FERRY
  • 1 night hotel stay with breakfast
  • 8-course sea food lunch at Golden Prawn 933
  •  Fully guided city & shopping tour, Shopping vouchers worth RP50,000
  • 1 hour traditional massage
  •  All land transfer as per itinerary
  • Mandarin/English Guide assist

Ferry Terminal going to Batam is located in Harbourfront, Singapore.

It’s a quick smooth Sindoferry Ride.

First stop is a Buddhist temple called Maha Vihara Buddha Maitreya/ Tua Pek Kong Temple.

Then, we visited one of many Polo Ralph Laurent Boutique.

Quick stop at Home Cottage Kue Lapis (Layer Cake), I wonder why tourist buy this stuff, nothing good about it, we didn’t buy.

We have a simple lunch at Golden Prawn 933, para syang dampa sa Pilipinas. In fairness, masarap naman ang food.

In the afternoon, we headed to Golden City, where you can see Indonesia Houses Miniature Park, Flying Fox, and experience Paint Ball and Go Kart.

Then finally they we headed at at Batiq Factory Outlet and finally to a small shopping mall, where we also have KFC for dinner. Before heading to hotel, we had our 1 hour Balinese Body Massage.

Finally, we checked-in Pacific Palace Hotel.

 There’s nothing much to see in Batam. We’re quite disappointed 😦 but it’s okay, we’ll just charge it to experience. We should have spend our money for an overnight stay in Sentosa or luxurious dinner in Marina Bay Sands.
