I’ve always been excited for New Year. As if New Year, has it’s own way of stirring my heart to forget the past, start fresh, dream more, anticipate new opportunities, be a better person and create another great year, believe God for another exciting and meaningful journey!
People all over the world, would probably thought of their new year’s resolution… New year’s resolution, is something they want to change, and most of the time, new years resolution doesn’t work. It’s only good and can be achieve for days or months, but not until the end of the year.
I don’t have new years resolution for decades! I only have personal short & long-term goals, since I graduated high-school, and change it to faith goals, since I joined Victory Annual Prayer & Fasting.
Personal Goals vs Faith Goals
Personal goals are personal dreams, desires and wants. These are your own plans, your blue print of what you think you like to be in the future, what you like to change in your character, what you want to experience or what do you want to have. You will work on it with all your heart and energy. You will do everything to make your personal goals happen. While, Faith Goals, are the things you’re believing God for, these are also the desires of your heart, your dreams, but these are aligned with God. You pray for it, seek God about it, and considered if God will be honored with these goals. Faith goals, are goals that allows you to be the person that God calls you to be, and allow His purpose to be fulfilled in your life. Faith goals, will lead you to know and embrace your true you and enjoy being you!
Since, I value relationships, I like trying new things, I love to travel, I value hard-earned money. Here’s what I usually ask myself when I’m about to start writing down my faith goals, and of course, prayer, Word and more prayer and more Word…
- How will I get to know God more, hear Him more and serve Him differently?
- How will I handle unplanned situations?
- Who I want to spend more time with?
- What is a habit I’m going to break and what habit should I start developing?
- What do I want to try or experience, things I want to start doing or skills I want to learn or improve upon?
- What would I like to work harder at?
- Where would I save and splurge?
- What are the destinations I would like to visit?
- What are the items in “My Bucket List” that I want to be check this year
How about you? What are you believing God for this 2015?
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord.
For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear[b] when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
