Sorry, But I Can’t Please You

Do you want to please people? Do you care more about what others think about you rather than being yourself? Got you, you’re being indirectly manipulated! I’ve been like this for a time, and somehow from time to time would please people until now.

Capture1When I first started working in a corporate setting, I learned from my friend Cha to care less about my colleagues think about me, what matters most is that I do my job and deliver results. From then on, I just do the things I need to do, if some people don’t like who I am, then it’s their problem. As long as I keep my family and close friends around, I’m fine. Anyways, family and real friends, will directly correct me, if they see something wrong in me, because they love me and they simply accept who I am.
Then when I transferred to another company, I tried to be at peace with all my colleagues. But as much as I try, there are still people who don’t like me or even hates me. Just seeing my face makes them sick, hahaha. I tried to reach out, pero imbey talaga sila sa beauty ko. So keri lang, God knows that we cannot win approval of everyone, we’ll just get tired trying to please people, because we’re ALL imperfect. In Galatians 1:10 “Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (NIV), God reminded me to please Him instead, I’m humbled to know that a perfect God, can be pleased by someone imperfect like me.

KISChapter7_3The past few weeks, I struggled again with pleasing people, again. I’ve been hearing different people opinions and expectations from me. Nakakaloka, medyo nakakalito, napaisip, napa-pray and napaiyak tuloy ako. I go back to God and seek Him, and He has the same reminder for me.

I’m grateful to know that we have gracious perfect God. Though He is perfect, He doesn’t judge us, he understands and accepts us. The Lord knows, that we might fail, we might commit mistakes, might disobey and make wrong decisions in the future, but still GOD LOVES US UNCONDITIONALLY. He forgives and justify our sins. Yay, what an awesome God! He is pleased with our obedience through His grace, He is pleased when we fully depend on Him. I Peter 2:19-20 says “For God is pleased when, conscious of his will, you patiently endure unjust treatment.  Of course, you get no credit for being patient if you are beaten for doing wrong. But if you suffer for doing good and endure it patiently, God is pleased with you.”

How about you? From now on start thinking of what the Lord thinks about you, He loves you and He is pleased with you, Be blessed!
