August 03, 2016 marked my one year in Maxim! Yes, Maxim is my corporate life since last year! This is where I work as Demand Planning Section Manager, spending 42.5 hours a week, leading 3 demand planners, demand planning, data analytics and forecasting and the list goes on.
I’m grateful for my job in Maxim. Maxim is a great place to work. It’s not perfect (like any other companies) but I’m happy and content after being here for a year. Well, it should have been better if is located near my place. (lol) 🙂
My one year journey is not a walk in the park. It’s been a challenging one! It’s a career shift, industry and role shift, so I need to speed up and learn Semicon industry, it’s nature of business, the culture, competitors, market, customers, systems, structure etc. But whats more challenging is managing and leading a diverse team members. As a manager, it’s being more than competent technically, but it’s more of building a strong team, motivate your staff to perform, maximize their skills, keep them engage to collaborate together to deliver company’s business goals and support their career goals & development as well. And yet, they will remain unhappy. I know, been there done that too! So I realized being a leader, requires a certain level of maturity, you don’t have to fight all the battles, you have to choose your battles!
It’s not an easy team to begin with, my leadership and character was challenged, I was shaken, but I made it! The management recognized my work, they believe in me and they trust me. I’m humbled as our Director affirmed my performance, I’m honored to had the opportunity to work with great leaders, it’s flattering, yet challenging! God has been gracious to me, He heard my prayers and His favor surrounds me. You know, when you lift your concerns to the Lord, when you cry to Him, He will listen, and He will do something about it. The Lord is my ultimate source of wisdom and strength. And I thank Him!
“For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
In my entire career life, one principle that I will always tell myself, I will “work excellently” to honor God in my work! Whatever it takes, I will work heartily for Him.
Colosians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.”
