Today, my husband and I knew that I am pregnant! Pink Pad alert! I was 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 days delayed! I intentionally didn’t take the pregnancy test (plan ko sana bukas pa!) but my husband, keep telling me to test na! I’m delaying the test, because I don’t want to see one line (negative result). I have my period delayed in the past, tested thrice but it always a negative. You know the feeling, We’re super expectant and hopeful, then once I knew I’m not pregnant,those days was really disappointing and heartbreaking!
But thank God, He never fails to comfort us during those days we’re sad and troubled, we were always reminded of His promises in Psalms.
1 Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord,
who walks in his ways!
2 You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands;
you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.
3 Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
4 Behold, thus shall the man be blessed
who fears the Lord.
5 The Lord bless you from Zion!
May you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life!
6 May you see your children’s children!

Mark & I, always wanted to have a child, we’ve been talking about this since we’re dating. Both of us love kids and would always dream of having our own children. When we got married, we both wanted to have kids immediately. But that’s not what God has in mind for us. It took us 1 year and 2 months before today.
Having twins, is one of our major faith goals in 2016. We pray and fast for it, we pray for it everyday, if you’re one of our close friends you know it. First quarter of 2016, we listened to one of the advises from our Ninang Daisy & Ninong Noe, to prioritize checking up with our OB-Gyne, to make sure that we have healthy reproductive system. They are right! It’s our responsibility to have our bodies check and do something about it as early as possible (in case there’s something that needed to be fix). After we did a series of tests, we’re grateful that we’re both GOOD and HEALTHY! Our OB-Gyne, Dra. Cecilia Reyes, prescribed us to take vitamins (Folic Acid, Vitamin C, E…)
After a month, we ended up with preconception work-up. We carefully observed my menstruation period, I took up fertility medicines and had ultrasound. At first try, our doctor said, that she saw 2 follicles, meaning there’s a chance we can have twins if I conceived. But she reminded us that the success of conception, is out of our control nor hers, it’s still God! So we hope we’ll have twins! But after few days, I got my period, pregnancy didn’t happen! I was so disappointed during that time, nawala yung hope ko, sobrang lungkot ko, I cried. But my husband, hugged me and encouraged me, he said, that “it’s not yet time. And besides, if God will bless us with a baby, it will be something natural, yung alam natin na hindi ka nag-take ng medicines, yung alam natin na galing talaga sya kay Lord.” Don’t get us wrong ha, we’re not against it, we will still take if needed, it’s just that, we feel na during that time, being 4 months married, we feel that we’re rushing into pregnancy, we feel like, we’re being impatient, trying to take control and going against God’s perfect timing. On that day, we decided to enjoy what we have – each other! (Aaawww, cheesy)! We enjoyed our life together as a young couple, we go out on dates often, we tried new things, we live life spontaneously and most of all we pray more. We trust and believe God, we allowed Him to change us and prepare us! There are still days when we doubt and worry, and (still) impatient for His timing. And again, in October 2016, we were reminded that our God is a promise-keeping God, Genesis 28:15 “….For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
Today, we knew that I conceived last Christmas 2016, it’s the BEST GIFT EVER, I’m already 5-weeks pregnant! Mark and I was so happy & grateful! Big big thanks to our families and friends who prayed with us. How amazing God is, He is really true and faithful to His promise. We continue to believe God for a baby since Day 1 of 2017, little did we know that He already answered our prayer! His way and timing is truly amazing.
So for all couples, who are asking the Lord for a child, we are praying with you. I want to encourage you today, God gave you that desire to have a child in your heart, and having a child is good. I believe God will give you this gift in His perfect time. Just patiently wait on the Lord. I have friends, who have waited longer, and now they have children too! They’ve been a real source of encouragement to us too. They trust God and the Lord honors their faith, for sure God sees your heart and will give you the desires of your heart in His perfect time.
Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Psalm 34:8
